Causes of Cervical Pain

  • *Medications*: Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, can help manage pain and inflammation.
  • *Massage and Chiropractic Care*: Gentle manipulation of the spine or muscles can relieve tension.
  • *Injections*: Steroid injections or nerve blocks may be used for more severe cases of cervical pain.
  • *Surgery*: In cases where conservative treatments fail, surgery may be considered to relieve nerve compression or correct structural issues.

Prevention:

Ergonomic Setup: Ensure your work or home environment supports good posture. Adjust your chair, computer, and phone to prevent straining the neck.

Regular Exercise: Strengthen the neck and upper back muscles to improve support and posture.

Sleep Positioning: Use a supportive pillow that maintains the natural curve of the neck, and avoid sleeping on your stomach.
